First Day of School

We started our school year on July 15th this year.  It was a day full of pictures and fun.  We normally don’t do any standard work on the first day of school.  After a little Bible music time we headed outside for a water balloon fight.  My boys managed to get me soaked and I soaked them pretty well too.  My daughter kept trying to hit me with a balloon for about 20 minutes before she popped her first one on me.

Once inside and in dry clothes the kids opened presents.  Their presents were new school items.  Here my son is opening a math game.

Exploring his new Smencils.
Opening their new Zome kit.

Here are all three of them.  This year is our 7th year of homeschooling!

My oldest is now in 6th grade.

My youngest is starting Kindergarten.  I’ve been doing some school with her the past year and a half, but I haven’t been really consistent or requiring it much until this year.  This year she will have a “full schedule”.  The schools around here have two years of Kindergarten so this would be her Senior Kindergarten year.

My youngest son is now in 4th grade.  I’m hoping that his year will be epic!

Her first long-awaited sewing lesson.

Building with Zome.
Exploring Zome Bubbleology

Making homemade pizza dough for personal pizzas.

That was the end of our busy day and the start of a brand new school year.

  1. What a wonderful way to start your new school year! I hope it is everything you wish it to be.

I admire your posts but often read on the run or with someone waiting for the computer, so sorry I don’t comment much these days.
