Great Wall of China made out of Rice Krispie Treats

We recently finished up our study of China and completed a mini Great Wall out of Rice Krispie Treats.  To start with the boys buttered a couple bread pans.
We made up the Rice Krispie Treats and put them in the greased pans.  While the Rice Krispies firmed up we took a hike on a nearby trail.

We took the Rice Krispie Treats out of the pans and attempted to line it up in the shape of a wall.  We quickly discovered that we needed to cut the loaf shape in half and build it up higher.  Once we had it all in the correct position I put frosting around the top edges.

My boys put a candy corn trim around the edges.  The frosting acted as glue to keep the candy corn in place.

Here is the finished product.  We added chocolate chips to make the walkways.  This was pretty easy to make and was a sweet way to bring fun into the school day.
