The other day we tried out a different art activity. It turned out to be more of a spelling activity than an art one though. We had a container of dried alphabet pasta, some glue, and construction paper. The little alphabet pasta pieces were tiny.
Now the project would have been much easier if the letters had been separated instead of all mixed together. Still it was a little fun to find the elusive letter O or the much needed E. My boys glued the words on the construction paper in the shapes of the things they were building.
Here you see a person with a HEAD, BODY, ARM and LEG. My other son did a dolphin word shape next to the word water.
Because the pieces were tiny this also gave great fine motor skill practice. I don’t know if we will do this activity again, but it sure would be great for a child who loves art and hates spelling.
