The voting in our sweet bread baking competition has closed and we now have a winner. We have been doing baking competitions every month or two over the past year. My kids enjoy baking and the competitions are a fun way to learn to bake. Each child is judged according to taste and looks. The winner for the appearance portion of the contest is determined by online votes. Pictures of their final creations can be found here.

The votes for the best looking bread were as follows:
1st place with 81 votes – Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Bread
2nd place with 40 votes – Pineapple Date Bread
3rd place with 21 votes – Banana Chocolate Chip Bread
We are finishing up the baking competition from last year so the scoring from last school year has continued. We only have one competition left before we compute the final results.
Points are assigned for each category and a total number of points are tallied for the entire competition. At this point here are the standings:
Tie for 1st place – 7th grader with 37 points
Tie for 1st place – 5th grader with 37 points
3rd place – 1st grader with 35 points
Their next contest? Naan!
