This was a year of big change for our family. First of all, there was now a baby in the house. Also, a few months into our school year I sold my business that was taking up about 60 hours a week of my time. At the same time, I began packing for our move from the USA to Canada. Importing all our stuff meant that I had to keep a record of what was in each of the 200 boxes that I packed! Needless to say, schooling was side-tracked for life for several months. Once we arrived in Canada, we lived for many weeks without furniture. Formal schooling resumed once we settled into our new home in Canada. We ended up finishing the school year mid-summer.
For this school year my oldest was in first grade and my younger son was only 4. My younger son wanted to join in on school time, but it was pretty much optional for him until after his 5th birthday.
