So what did my kids do in school today?
My 2nd grader did:
- 15 minutes of typing on the computer program Roller Typing
- Did two days worth of spelling with Sequential Spelling 1
- Did one page in his Italic Handwriting Series Book C book
- Practiced the third tone in Pinyin for six different letters and their different vowel configurations
- Listened to 2 chapters of The Hidden Jewel about the missionary Amy Carmichael
- Listened to 6 pages in Tidal Zone (Exploring the Oceans) and watched 3 related YouTube videos
- Watched The StoryKeepers : Ready, Aim, Fire, DVD about the early Christian church
- Played outside in the snow
- Did three pages in Critical Thinking’s Mathematical Reasoning, Level C
- Played Rummy Roots Card Game
My Kindergartener did:
- Two lessons on Music Ace Deluxe computer program
- Four pages in his Explode the Code 3 workbook
- One page in his Handwriting Without Tears workbook
- Read four pages in his reading book A Fly Went By
- Practiced the third tone in Pinyin for six letters and their different vowel configurations
- Completed one page in his Write About Me workbook
- Listened to 2 chapters of The Hidden Jewel.
- Listened to 6 pages in Tidal Zone (Exploring the Oceans) and watched 3 related YouTube videos
- Watched The StoryKeepers Ready, Aim, Fire, DVD
- Played outside in the snow
- Played Singapore Math CD-ROM Rainbow Rock game for about 30 minutes
- Played Rummy Roots Card Game
Well there you have it. We started around 11ish and ended around 5:30 with a couple breaks. While we didn’t have any fun hands-on activities today, I mixed things up with workbooks, books, videos, games, and reading aloud to them. It helps keeps things varied and interesting.
