Kindergarten Writing Growth

It has been over a year since my five year old started his blog. When he started writing by himself on his blog at age 4 years and 8 months he just typed letters on the keyboard such as:   hgfdsawwderrewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwll

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall

ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddnhghgt

His next totally independent work was at age 5 years and 4 months. He typed:

ilac;roboxfum(child’s name)

Interpreted it means I like Roblox. From, (child’s name).

At 5 years and 7 months he wrote:

On ROBLOX i wus play a obby on the obby i wus doing a kros the lova
and i felaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
yay i resetid!!

Interpreted it means On Roblox I was playing an obby. On the obby I was going across the lava and I fell. Aah! Yea, I resetted!

The latest sample is at 5 years and 10 months. He wrote:   On lago.com i am gowin tu play cost grd gam tmro i mut do it frst…

Interpreted it means On Lego.com I am going to play coast guard game tomorrow. I must do it first.

He made the transition from nonsense words to actual words with no spacings. Then he transitioned to sentences with correct spacing and was using some punctuation and capitals. We aren’t doing anything for writing instruction now except for giving him many opportunities to write.
