This is our crazy schedule or my attempt to find a way to schedule out my time between my kids. I do enjoy a block style schedule, but it has been difficult to implement with 3 kids that are not all working independently. My 6th grader is capable of mostly independent work, but discussion time as well as one-on-one time for subjects really benefits him so I have been hesitant to push him off to more independent studies because my time is limited. I purposely chose a writing program that is heavily parent-involved at this point. It will be good for both of us. My 4th grader is able to do some subjects independently, but does require a bit of guidance and help staying on track. My Kindergartener will only do two subjects independently, and I’m using that term loosely. For logic she will do her puzzle books on her own, but will likely come to me for guidance quite often. Her Bible art will be done on her own, but I’ll need to get her started. I think this crazy looking schedule balances my time between my kids so they are all able to get what they need. We start on Monday so we’ll see how it works.
Here is my schedule of time with kids. I haven’t put it in certain times each day because that makes things too inflexible for us. I’ve grouped my kids together for some slots even through they may be working on different things. I will be available to help both of them at that time so they will likely sit on either side of me and do their work.
