I put together plans for my youngest child that will last from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. In the early years I like to focus on the enjoyment of learning while developing strong skills in core subjects. With my older kids I have done full-days for Kindergarten with only a portion of the day spent in what would be considered formal seat work. Because I am schooling two other grades, it may be difficult to do the same thing with her. With that in mind, I think I have come up with a plan that will work for us.
Reading skills are highly variable at this age and I’m not even going to attempt to guess which books she will read for each grade. I put together a list of reading books in chronological order and we will just continue through the list as she is ready for them.
I also realize there is great variability in every other subject at this age so this is a general guideline.
