About a week after our first hike of the season we attempted to make it to the lake. We had seen the lake on a trail map on our previous hike and all had differing opinions on how far away the lake was. We planned to head in the direction of the lake and see if we made it in 45 minutes. When we made it to the map we had seen on our previous hike we still had about 12 minutes to spare so we continued on.
With 5 minutes left we still had not spotted the lake, although we were supposed to be very close. By the time we reached the turn around time we had made it to the lake.
We rested a wee bit, looked around at the waterfowl, and then headed back. We found a path going around the lake and determined that the next time we trek to the lake we will go all around it too.
